Ella’s expression turned nostalgic. “Our lunch picnics near the pond… You and I taking a walk… Uncle and Aunty preparing breakfast for me, and then ending the evening with the amazing barbecue by your dad. Those days were amazing
Maria raised an eyebrow, her voice laced with skepticism. “Wait a second. Evan. I’ve known you for three years, but I’ve never seen Ella around. When did you two have such wonderful times together?”
Evan’s gaze faltered, his eyes darting away, “Uh, well… Ella and I dated in college, about four years ago. We were almost inseparable… I even thought we’d get married.” He shrugged, his eyes returning to Ella. “But we broke up for some reason or other.”
Maria’s expression turned incredulous. “You expect me to believe that? I’ve never seen any pictures or heard any stories about her from you. It’s like she never existed in your life.”
Evan shrugged. “We broke up due to some reasons.” He turned back to Ella, his eyes filled with nostalgia. “I still remember that tree we planted together. It’s grown so much.”
Ella’s head tilted, her gaze drifting back to the trees. “I have so many precious memories in this house… moments I’ll always treasure.” Her voice was filled with sincerity. “Evan, I- She turned to him, her eyes sparkling. “Let’s show Maria around, where the two of us used to hang out. We can catch up on old times.” Evan’s response was blunt, his eyes dismissing Maria. Nice meeting you, Maria. But I think we’ve caught up enough. Ella, let’s take a walk. He took Ella’s hand, his tone firm but polite.
Ella’s eyes widened in shock, but she didn’t resist as Evan led her away, leaving Maria standing alone. Maria’s face fell, her eyes filled with disappointment and hurt. “I…I see,” she stammered, her voice barely audible.
“Did you cheat on him?” Maria asked, her voice laced with disbelief. “Evan would never cheat or fight. He’s the kindest man I know.”
Ella nodded, her eyes downcast. “Maybe we should leave.” Evan nodded in agreement, and Maria’s face fell.
“Goodbye, Maria. I’ll see you later,” Evan said, his tone polite but distant.
Maria let out a deep sigh and stood up, feeling humiliated. “Are you still coming to the annual ball pa- by the Business Associates Club?” she asked, trying to salvage the situation.
Evan nodded. “Of course, I’ll be there.”
Maria’s face lit up with excitement. “Great, what time should you pick me up?”
Evan’s response was blunt. “I’ll be coming with Ella. You shouldn’t be a third wheel, Maria. Why don’t you find your own partner?”
Maria’s smile faltered, but Evan didn’t seem to notice. Let’s take a stroll to the pond and revisit some more memories,” he said, holding out his hand to Ella,
Ella took his hand, and they walked away, leaving Maria standing alone, feeling embarrassed and rejected.
Maria frowned, confusion etched on her face. “Why is he being so caring towards her?” she thought to herself. “I need to know more about this girl.” She decided to investigate further, curious about Ella’s background and why they broke up.
As Maria walked out of the house, grumbling to herself, Evan and Ella began their stroll. Evan gently held her hand, ensuring she was stable on the winding path I can’t forget this place ever.” Ella said, her eyes fixed on the familiar trees and lush greenery.
“Me too.” Evan replied, smiling as they walked hand in hand. As they approached a spot where Ella’s foot stumbled, he quickly grabbed her hand, pulling her close by the waist. Their eyes locked, and they

“I can’t believe you suggested coming here,” Ella said, her eyes shining with a hint of shyness. “This place really brings back so many memories.”
“I know, right?” Evan replied, his eyes sparkling with nostalgia.
“I couldn’t resist coming here to relive old times, Ella said, her eyes sparkling with nostalgia. “Remember
up with a how you used to skip stones on the water?” She gestured towards the pond, and Evan’s face lit
smile.
“Oh yeah!” He chuckled, his eyes scanning the surrounding trees. “And remember how we carved our names on that tree?” Ella pointed towards the familiar old tree, and they both giggled as they approached
it.
“Oh my God, look! Our names are still there!” Ella exclaimed, her eyes shining with excitement. Evan chuckled, his eyes following hers to the carving: “Ella and Evan Forever Together”.
As they walked further ahead, they arrived at a beautiful pond surrounded by vibrant flowers, designed by Evan’s parents. This was their usual picnic spot, where they had shared many wonderful family
moments.
The pond was teeming with fish, and the serene atmosphere brought back a flood of memories for the couple. They stood there, hand in hand, taking in the beauty of their special place.
Evan stood next to the pond, taking in the serene view. He turned to Ella, his eyes locked on hers. “Remember our first kiss?” he asked, his voice low and husky.
Ella’s smile bloomed. “How could I forget? It was right there.” She pointed towards the tree, and Evan nodded, his eyes shining with nostalgia.
“I want to go under the tree, Evan whispered, looking at Ella with a hint of mischief. Ella raised an eyebrow, her eyes sparkling with surprise. “What are you talking about? Do you want to kiss me?”
Evan quickly backtracked, his face flushing. “No, no, I mean… do you want to stand under the shade?” He tried to play it cool, but the tension between them was palpable.
Despite their efforts to ignore the chemistry between them, they both knew that revisiting their past was a delicate dance. But they were reluctant to ruin the moment with current complications.
“Sure, I’d love that,” Ella said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. Hand in hand, they walked towards the tree where they had shared their first kiss, the nostalgia between them almost palpable.
Under the stunning cherry blossom tree, they relived the memory of their first kiss. Ella inhaled dee savoring the sweet aroma of the flowers surrounding her. “This is exactly what I needed,” she said, her eyes shining with gratitude. “Thanks for bringing me here, Evan.”
“Anytime,” Evan replied with a warm smile, the kind of smile he had forgotten in recent years. “Some memories are too precious to be forgotten,” he added, his eyes locked on hers.
Ella nodded in agreement, her gaze drifting to the pond where ducks swam playfully in the water. Suddenly, she remembered something. “Hey, do you still have that secret cabin?” she asked, her eyes. sparkling with curiosity.
Evan hesitated for a moment before nodding. “I do have it. Do you really want to see if?” he asked, a hint of nostalgia in his voice.
“Of course, why wouldn’t I want to see it?” Ella replied, her eyes shining with excitement. “It’s like revisiting a part of our history.”
his eyes fluttering closed as he hesitated. “What “Alright, this is a little embarrassing.” Evan said, happened?” Ella asked, confusion etched on her face. It’s just our secret cabin where we used to read stories to each other. What’s wrong with that?”
Evan’s voice was barely audible. I kind of… changed it after our breakup. I don’t think you should be seeing it. I’m not ready.” Ella’s eyes widened in surprise “Did you burn it down? Did you paint it black? Did you write curse words for me?” she asked, her voice laced with disbelief.

Evan rolled his eyes. “Do you think I’m a monster?” Ella nodded, her eyes sparkling with amusement. “Fine, you can see it, just to make you believe that I’m not a monster, Evan said, his voice sharp, but then his expression softened, and he held her hand lovingly as they walked past the pond.
“I’m really curious about what you did to that cabin,” Ella said, her curiosity getting the better of her. “See for yourself.” Evan replied, his eyes hinting at a secret.
They walked past the pond in silence, Ella sensing Evan’s hesitation, but her curiosity was piqued. They turned right and crossed a tiny wooden bridge over the pond, leading them to the other side of the property.
This was their hideout, where they spent quality time together after college. The area was filled with cherry blossom trees, and they had built a small wooden cabin at the end of the property, hidden from view. The cabin was usually locked, and only Ella and Evan were allowed to enter.
As they walked through the blossoming trees, Ella quickened her pace, eager to reach the cabin. But Evan gently held her hand, slowing her down. “Wait,” he said, his eyes locked on hers. “You’re going too fast.” “Do you forget that you are pregnant?” Evan said, reminding her to slow down.
Ella realized her mistake and nodded, slowing her pace. “I’m sorry, I keep forgetting.” She fluttered her yes closed, her curiosity getting the better of her. “I’m so curious to know what you did to the cabin.” As they entered a tiny path amongst the bushes, the wooden cabin came into view. It was small, only able to fit 5-6 people, but beautifully decorated with colorful paints and their names written on it. “You didn’t burn it down.” Ella said, her eyes scanning the cabin. “I can still see my name. Nothing has changed.” She looked at Evan, confusion etched on her face. “Why were you embarrassed to show it to me?”
Evan smiled, his eyes crinkling at the corners. “Well, maybe you should look inside,” he said, his voice hinting at a secret.
Ella’s eyes lit up as she opened the cabin door with a code that was still memorized in her purse. The code was still the same, and she turned to look at Evan with wonder. “It seems like nothing has changed,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ella’s eyes widened as she stepped inside the cabin, her gaze scanning the interior in shock. “What is this?” she asked, her voice laced with disbelief. The cabin was transformed into a cozy little nest, filled with memories and mementos from their past. Photos, tickets, and other trinkets adorned the walls, telling the story of their relationship. The once-plain cabin was now a testament to their love, frozen in time. eyes landed on a familiar guitar in the corner, and her voice barely whispered, “You kept it all.”
