Lysander didn’t really understand oil paintings, but she found that particular piece quite appealing.
“Why does this scene seem so familiar?” Daphne suddenly pointed oa dimly lit street lamp in the corner of the painting. “This lamp is similar to the one in your mea.cal university.”
Lysander merely cast a glance before swiftly averting her gaze, then shook her head.
Daphne was still somewhat confused. “It’s not?”
Lysander still shook her head.
“I was wrong about it?”
Lysander nodded.
“Fine, then. It’s been many years since I last visited the medical university. I might have remembered it wrong.” Daphne chuckled awkwardly.
Lysander made a gesture of making a phone call.
Understanding Lysander’s intentions, Daphne handed her the phone.
Lysander typed: Could you do me a favor and-call my parents? Just let them know I’m safe.
“Oh, right. Darn, my memory’s bad.” Daphne took the phone and immediately made a video call.
The call was answered after just a single ring.
Lara, Maverick, and Michelle squeezed into the frame, waving excitedly.
“Lysander!”
“Lysa!”
“Lysa, why did you leave so abruptly? You didn’t even tell us anything. We were almost frantic when we couldn’t reach you on the phone.”
Suddenly, a faint pang tugged at Lysander’s heart.
Fortunately, Daphne was there to smooth things over. She reassured, “Mr. Thorne, Mrs. Thorne, don’t worry. It’s just that Lysander is too outstanding. The hospital here encountered a rather difficult patient and was at a loss. Lysander had no choice but to come over early. As you know, treating patients and saving lives can’t wait. Lysander didn’t have time to inform you.”

Daphne immediately understood. “Oh, the hospital had arranged a dormitory for Lysander, and she also ate in the hospital cafeteria. It’s not much different from being back in the country.”
“Oh wow, there’s a dormitory? That’s really great,” said Laura.
Maverick immediately said. “I told you, didn’t I? Our Lysa is a real talent. They would offer great conditions just to retain such talent, but you wouldn’t believe me.”
Laura was filled with joy as she said, “It’s not that I don’t believe you. I’m just worried about my daughter. She’s going to be in a foreign place, surrounded by different people. It’s not safe for a young woman to live alone. It’s much better for her to stay in the hospital dormitory where she’ll be with her colleagues and can ask for help if needed.”
Daphne added, “Exactly, Mr. Thorne and Mrs. Thorne. The dormitory that the hospital assigned to Lysander is quite spacious. I’m also living with her. Just now, Lysander promised me that she would cook me an Ecronian meal.”
“Does she know how to do it?”

Laura chuckled as she said, “Daphne, let me give you a heads up. I know my own daughter. The food she cooks is, at most, edible. However, if you’re expecting it to be delicious, that’s probably not going to happen.”
